What Dean Smith meant was that it doesn’t matter if you become a successful person it’s what you do while trying and during the progress on what you do is right. It’s better to do the right thing and become something successful because when your time is gone the only thing people will remember you as a mean person but if you do all the right things during your successful time then you’ll be remembered as someone nice, all these type of good things. So it’s just better to become a kind person than to be the opposite of that
